Schools & nurseries

Buddy Bear Friends Schools and Nurseries Programme nurtures children's friendships, well being and learning powers in their formative years, and prevents bullying.

This holistic programme provides fun and educational activities, workshops and teaching resources, to support children in early years from preschool to Primary 3.

Outcomes include enhancing children's well-being, attainment and achievement in line with CfE and GIRFEC.  It has gained the support of the Scottish Qualifications Authority Giving Something Back initiative.

The whole school community is being inspired by Buddy Bear Friends, with hundreds of acts of kindness.

This exciting initiative stemmed from one of our award winning Lead a Bright Future projects with young people that wanted to address bullying.  Young people continue to support the development of Buddy Bear Friends and the next step is for children and young people from upper primary years and secondary school to help deliver the programme workshops for young children.

John Dagger, Deputy Head Teacher, Law Primary School said "Buddy Bear was a HUGE success at Law Primary and he has definitely left an impression on the kids. We are reinforcing the KAPAW message and it's taking hold."
